Purchasing & Inventory Manager

Purchasing materials and securing cost effective pricing for production and monitoring on time delivery. Recommend process improvements to improve delivery requirements to include the receipt of quality and invoicing documentation requirements. 1. Sourcing and purchasing of raw materials for production. 2. Finding new vendors nationally and internationally. 3. Managing the Purchase Order process - Preparing purchase orders for review and signature, following the PO process for submission and acceptance; monitoring order progress, notifying the Operations Manager of any delays or issues; reconciling production quantity with PO quantity, and reviewing invoice for accuracy against items and quantity produced. 4. Negotiate terms and pricing with vendors for cost effective buying. 5. Validate all raw material and packaging costs to include freight, terms of payment and when required expedited delivery. Must verify Freight cost and coordinate expedited delivery of raw materials. 6. Update price list of raw materials on a daily basis. 7. Log inventory and maintain deduction on a daily basis. 8. Coordinate physical inventory on a quarterly basis to maintain accurate count. Work with warehousing department to do actual inventory count. Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability of effective communication. Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude. Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices. Must have product knowledge in the food, nutritional supplement or related industries. Must have knowledge and experience in the CFR 111 GMP requirements. Minimum 5 years' experience in Purchasing and Inventory Control in a manufacturing or chemical industry. BA/BS 4 year Degree (preferred) or Associates degree with equivalent experience. Supervisor experience (preferred). Develop and use excel spreadsheets, Microsoft word and power point software applications. Experience in MRP software (we use ProcessPro) but will train on software system. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
