Nurse Practitioner Psychiatry (CK Post ATC)
The responsibilities of the Nurse Practitioner include, but are not limited to, the following:
o Interview and evaluate patients to determine the nature of the psychiatric complaint and the treatment to be prescribed; o may be required to conduct psychiatric evaluation via telepractice for another ATC during regular business hours. o Author medication orders and clarify orders when required with nursing; o Review preadmission psychiatric information to determine psychiatric appropriateness prior to admission; o Establish the admitting diagnoses and final diagnoses upon discharge; o Conduct psychiatric examinations, assessments and consultations; o Respond to psychiatric emergencies, o Assess and treat patients with co-occurring disorders; o Function as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team. o Provide educational lectures/groups to patients and or staff o Perform other relevant duties as assigned. NOTE:
The ATC uses a computerized patient record system.

Salary Range:
From $117151 to $139073 Annually
Minimum Qualification
Transfer Eligible:
One year of permanent competitive service as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or eligible for a 70.1 transfer. -OR- New York State License to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse; and Certification by the New York State Department of Education in a specialty area to practice as a Nurse Practitioner. Candidates must be eligible and maintain eligibility for full and unconditional participation in the Medicaid and Medicare programs. Failure to maintain licensure, certification and/or Medicaid/Medicare eligibility will result in the termination of employment.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
