Salary Range:
From $75340 to $95392 Annually
Minimum Qualification
Candidates must be reachable for appointment on the current Civil Service eligible list for the title; OR Transfer Opportunity - have permanent status as a Health Information Management Administrator 3, Grade 22, and be eligible for lateral transfer; OR For Temporary Appointment:
Health Information Management Administrator 3 is a continuous recruitment examination. Candidates who are not on the eligible list may apply for this position and if appointed, will receive a temporary appointment. Candidates must be currently certified by the American Health Information Management Association as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) AND have two years of full-time professional (post-RHIA) health information management experience . To be considered for temporary appointment, candidates must submit a New York State Application (NYS-APP) to the Department of Civil Service for scoring. Candidates appointed temporary must receive a score that is reachable on the resulting eligible list before they can be permanently appointed. Candidates who are disqualified or who do not receive a reachable score may not be retained. Professional Health Information Management experience must include:
reviewing medical records with physicians, coding and indexing diseases and operative procedures, compiling statistics required for hospital service analysis, and responsibility for all technical aspects of the implementation of a facility Health Information Management program. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
