00 SalaryDescriptionOverview of the Position:
Plans, directs, and performs quality assurance activities necessary to ensure product and process compliance with specifications and contract requirements.
Responsible for developing and guiding quality assurance program plans, inspection plans and inspection equipment requirements in both manufacturing and development processes.
Assists to manage the corrective and preventative action process and manages quality communications with customers.
The Assistant Quality Manager reports to the Quality Director.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Assists in the management of the Quality Management System to assure each department has documented the procedures and are implemented and effective.
Utilize and implement standard work in each department.
Conduct internal audits for company quality requirements.
Support in handling of all associated quality procedures and work instructions, as well as control of nonconforming product, product disposition.
Assists in directing priorities and suggests solutions to problems.
Utilize and implement problem solving methodology in each department.
Reviews new or unique contractual terms and conditions, customer procedures, and procurement regulations that have an impact on the company's business processes and functions.
Manages, reviews and implements OSHA Safety requirements throughout the facility.
Manages, maintains and implements the Tool Calibration Program.
Assists in unit warranty evaluations, hazardous waste facilities management, Technical Publications maintenanceResolves problems with vendors concerning quality control requirements.
Requests and attends technical review meetings for problem resolution as necessary.
Communicates quality control requirements to internal and external customers.
Manages Supplier Quality, vendor performance metrics, site audits and approvals.
Coordinates with production manager, expeditors and buyers, to expedite delinquent parts, late vendor deliveries, and shortages.
Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Previous Aerospace Management in Quality Assurance is preferred.
A&P certification or experience a plus.
FAA Standards/FAR requirement knowledge a plus.
Return to Service Inspection a plus.
Working knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulation is preferred.
Advanced experience or training in problem solving:
root cause and corrective analysis (RCCA) is preferred.
Prior experience preferred in inspection of aerospace components and must have technical writing skills(30
WPM).
Working knowledge of basic hand and measurement tools (digital calipers, micrometers, gauges, power supplies).
Prior writing experience to develop:
quality management systems, quality manuals technical manuals is preferred.
